Pop megastar Britney Spears' ground-breaking memoir The Woman in Me was one of the most popular books of 2023, and an adaptation could be hitting the big screen soon.
The singer is said to be in "advanced talks" about turning the best-seller - in which Britney discussed topics such as being under her controversial 13-year conservatorship, and why she shaved her head in 2007 - into a movie, according to the Sunday Mirror newspaper.
This has sparked betting sites into life, with speculation increasing about who might play the Gimme More hitmaker in a film.
Millie's Dream Role
Millie Bobby Brown is the 4/5 favourite on new betting sites to portray the pop princess in a big-screen movie, after previously expressing her interest in such a part.
The Stranger Things star admitted way back in 2022 that she would love to portray Britney one day, because 20-year-old Millie thinks she could tell her story "in the right way".
She told The Drew Barrymore Show at the time: "I want to play a real person and I think for me, Britney. [It] would be Britney Spears. I think her story, first of all, resonates with me.
"Just growing up in the public eye watching her videos, watching interviews of how when she was younger. I mean, same thing with you.
"I see the scramble for words [in her interviews] and I don't know her, but when I look at pictures of her, I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only."
However, just hours after Millie's comments came to light in 2022, Britney made it quite clear she wasn't exactly pleased about the idea.
She wrote on Instagram: "I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life … dude I'm not dead !!! (sic)"
Sweeney In Contention?
If a Britney film does materialise without a green light from the star, it wouldn't be the first time such a project has been made without any input from her.
Two previous documentaries made about her life and the #FreeBritney campaign to have her released from her conservatorship - which ended in November 2021 - were not authorised by her, and she wasn't too impressed.
In an Instagram post about one of the films, she posted: "It’s really crazy guys ... I watched a little bit of the last documentary and I must say I scratched my head a couple of times. I really try to disassociate myself from the drama !!! (sic)"
One actress who is no stranger to dramatic roles is Sydney Sweeney.
The White Lotus star is 5/4 second favourite on specials betting sites to portray Britney in a film, while Margot Robbie is 2/1.
The Wolf of Wall Street actress has previously been linked to the role, but she has insisted such speculation is "not true".

From Madonna To Britney?
Ozark star Julia Garner could also be in contention, after her Madonna biopic was delayed.
She was cast to portray Madge in 2022 after reportedly beating off competition from the likes of Sydney, and Florence Pugh, who is 7/2 to portray Britney.
But could Julia turn her attentions to the Lucky hitmaker while she waits to see if the Madonna movie ever comes to fruition?
Julia is 3/1 on betting apps to take on the part, while others who could be in the conversation include Captain Marvel star Brie Larson (4/1), Madame Web actress Isabela Merced (11/2) and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega (6/1).
If movie bosses are on the hunt for someone who can sing, act and looks like Britney then they could hit the jackpot with the star's own sister - Jamie Lynn Spears.
However, the pair have publicly feuded in recent years, and the Zoey 101 actress is a massive 50/1 outsider to land the role.
