Jadon Sancho Next Club Odds: Dortmund Favourites If Man Utd Return Breaks Down
Jadon Sancho is enjoying a renaissance at Borussia Dortmund and the best betting sites are beginning to wonder where he will be plying his trade at the start of next season.
Bombed out of Manchester United after falling out with Erik ten Hag, Sancho agreed to return to Signal Iduna Park in January.
He is on loan at Dortmund until the end of the campaign, which the German side will conclude with the Champions League final against Real Madrid on June 1.
Where will Sancho be playing his football after the summer transfer window? Let’s take a look at the market offered by betting apps.
Dortmund Lead Way With PSG Also An Option
Borussia Dortmund would be the obvious destination for Sancho next season, and they are available at 11/8 with Bet365.
The England international has got back to his best on familiar territory in 2024 and is said to have an excellent relationship with BVB boss Edin Terzic.
Sancho may be happy to commit his future to Dortmund now that he knows the grass is not always greener on the other side. Yet doing so would mean joining a club that are unlikely to win major prizes year in, year out.
Paris Saint-Germain need to replace Kylian Mbappe in the summer and they can be backed at 10/1. Having just seen Sancho up close and personal, they could be tempted to make a move.
Bayern Or Chelsea Could Make Move For Sancho
Bayern Munich are an interesting choice at 14/1.
Sancho has shown time and time again that his style of wing play is ideally suited to the Bundesliga. This would not be the first time Bayern have taken players from under Dortmund’s noses.
Whether the former Manchester City youth product would be willing to join Bayern remains to be seen. We also do not know who their manager will be next season.
Chelsea are available at 16/1. They would not be able to offer Champions League football to Sancho, but Mauricio Pochettino is beginning to get a tune out of the youthful squad at his disposal.
Liverpool, Arsenal And Tottenham Among Outsiders
Liverpool (20/1), Arsenal and Tottenham (both 25/1) are among the outsiders to land Sancho. It is near-impossible to imagine the winger at Anfield, since United are loath to sell any player to their arch rivals.
It is not hard to imagine either Mikel Arteta or Ange Postecoglou getting the best out of Sancho.
Spurs would seem to be a likelier destination, since it is hard to imagine the Dortmund loanee displacing Bukayo Saka on Arsenal’s right flank.
La Liga Transfer Unlikely At This Stage
A move to the Saudi Pro League is offered as a 16/1 option, but Sancho would surely rather remain at the highest level of the European game, not least because he is about to take part in a Champions League final.
Odds of 33/1 and 40/1 on Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively indicate that a switch to La Liga is also improbable.
Madrid are fully focused on Mbappe for now, while Barcelona appear to be short of cash.
Sancho Odds-On To Be At Old Trafford
As the 10/11 odds show, football betting sites reckon Sancho is likely to return to Manchester United next season.
Much will depend on the future of Ten Hag, who has made it clear that the winger is not welcome on his watch.
United splashed out £73m on Sancho in 2021 and, despite an underwhelming start to his time at Old Trafford, they will not want to give up on him just yet.
Ten Hag’s Days At Man Utd Appear Numbered
Ten Hag continues to insist he is the right man for the job, but his team have gone backwards this season.
Even an FA Cup triumph - United face Manchester City later this month - would be akin to papering over the cracks.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has wasted little time in making changes behind the scenes and he will soon turn his attention to the manager’s role. Ten Hag is now 4/1 to be United boss for the 2024/25 campaign.
