Five Arrested On $17,000 Philly Cheating Scam
Pennsylvania state police successfully uncovered a cheating scam that found Live! Casino Philadelphia dealer defrauding more than $17,000. The scam, which involved the live table section, led to the arrest of 5 people.
Scam Took Place Over Several Days in April
In a public statement, the PA state police revealed details of the cheating scam that had been going on between a dealer on the live tables and three patrons, who were colluding on two different games.
The main perpetrator at the casino was named in the police statement as being Khai Ho, a 44-year-old from Philadelphia. The report describes how: “While Ho was dealing baccarat, he would switch hands so it would appear as if the players had won. Those players were then paid out. While Ho was dealing Pai Gow tiles, he would falsely shuffle the tiles, leaving behind hands that were already determined. Players would bet based on the knowledge of the falsely shuffled tiles and therefore gained an illegal advantage. For this involvement, Ho was paid in cash outside the casino by these perpetrators.”
The case is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing at the Philadelphia Municipal Court. This is not the first time that casino workers in the Keystone State have found themselves caught red-handed. In March, two Rivers Casino PA workers were arrested following allegations of a “complex cheating conspiracy” involving the roulette tables that led to the casino to lose more than $10,000.
