US Online Poker Report: PokerStars On FanDuel Grows 14% In August

PokerStars on FanDuel was the only one of the "big three" US-regulated online poker brands to grow in August 2026, according to estimates compiled by Poker Industry PRO.

The brand generated an estimated $2.6 million in revenue across the three states where it operates (Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey), up 14% from the same month a year earlier, when it still ran on its legacy PokerStars software.

A Three-State Network Is Paying Off In New Jersey

PokerStars moved its US players onto iPoker software in April 2026, and in the same move combined two previously separate networks: Michigan and New Jersey, which already shared player liquidity, plus a standalone Pennsylvania network, into a single three-state pool.

In the five months since that switch, the operator has generated an estimated $12.9 million in revenue, up 9.4% on the $11.8 million it made over the same period in 2025.

Most of that growth has come from New Jersey, where PokerStars NJ is now the single largest individual online poker site in the state (though the combined BetMGM network, including Borgata and PartyPoker, remains larger overall) and is growing 30% year over year.

Michigan is estimated to be growing at a similar pace. Pennsylvania is the exception: PokerStars PA is still in decline despite players there now having access to a much larger shared player pool.

Narrow Market Still Leans On Shared Liquidity

The report lands against a backdrop of a slowly expanding but still geographically narrow US online poker market, legal in only a handful of states, even as sports betting and online casino gaming have gone live far more broadly.

Liquidity sharing between states remains one of the main levers operators have to grow revenue in a market that hasn't added a new state in some time, which is why the Michigan-New Jersey-Pennsylvania consolidation is being closely watched as a template that other interstate compacts could follow.

A Small But Closely Tracked Market

Regulated online poker remains one of the smallest verticals in the US regulated-gambling industry, legal in only a handful of states even as sports betting and online casino gaming have expanded to dozens more over the past several years.

That narrowness is exactly why monthly estimates like Poker Industry PRO's carry outsized weight with operators and regulators alike: with so few states in the market, each operator's month-to-month swing is a meaningful signal rather than noise.

Players comparing today's regulated poker options against the wider online casino market can see how liquidity-sharing compacts like the Michigan-New Jersey-Pennsylvania network are increasingly treated as a model for how new states could join existing poker pools rather than launching fully standalone markets of their own, a structure regulators in states considering legalization have been studying closely.

Shared-Liquidity Agreements

Regulators in states weighing whether to legalize online poker have repeatedly pointed to shared-liquidity agreements, like the one now combining Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania under a single player pool, as the clearest way to make a new standalone market viable from day one rather than waiting years to build enough local player volume on its own.

The interstate compact behind that pooling, the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, already includes Nevada, Delaware, and West Virginia as signatories even though not all of them have gone fully live with shared tables yet, underlining how much of the US poker market's future growth is now tied to how many additional states choose to join an existing network rather than building their own from scratch.
