Jack Grealish Next Club Odds: Could A Return To Villa Be On The Cards?

This has been a frustrating season for Jack Grealish, and the best UK betting sites have opened a market on a potential transfer away from Manchester City in the summer.

Grealish was a key part of the City side last term, as Pep Guardiola’s side swept all before them in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. Yet Grealish has found starts hard to come by in the current campaign.

Ahead of Wednesday’s clash with his former club Aston Villa, Grealish has been included in a Premier League starting XI on just seven occasions in 2023/24.

That has dented his chances of being picked in Gareth Southgate’s first-choice side at Euro 2024. Grealish may be considering his future, but where could he go?

Let’s take a look at some of the options.

Aston Villa And Tottenham Lead Market Right Now

Grealish no doubt agonised over the decision he made in 2021 to leave his boyhood club Aston Villa to join City.

Last season’s treble success vindicated his choice, but it would not be a huge surprise to see him end up back at Villa Park one day.

Betting apps have Unai Emery’s side down as the favourites at odds of 5/4

Villa will probably be able to offer Champions League football next term, but there has been some talk that money is tight as the club seeks to ensure compliance with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Tottenham are thought to have more cash to spend and they can be backed at 6/4. The key question here is whether Grealish and James Maddison can work in the same team.

Bayern Munich And Arsenal Could Make Move

With Thomas Tuchel on the way out and Xabi Alonso deciding to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, we do not yet know who will be in Bayern Munich's dugout at the beginning of next term.

The club will have already begun drawing up recruitment plans, though, and you can get a price of 5/2 on Grealish joining his England team-mates Harry Kane and Eric Dier in Munich.

Football betting sites are giving out 3/1 odds on Arsenal signing Grealish.

Mikel Arteta will be keen to add to his squad in the summer, and one could certainly imagine the Manchester City man thriving in one of the No.8 berths at the Emirates Stadium.

But now that Arsenal are direct challengers to City, the latter may be more wary of selling players to them as they previously did with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

PSG And Manchester United Among The Dark Horses

Paris St-Germain are set to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer, with Luis Enrique’s side set to embark on a new era.

The manager of the French side will be seeking reinforcements ahead of next season, and Grealish is available at 4/1 on new betting sites to end up at the Parc des Princes.

Manchester United, listed at 11/2, are also set for a rebuild. Grealish would add extra invention and guile to a frontline that has lacked both of those qualities this term.

However, it is hard to envisage City willingly selling a player like Grealish to their rivals from across Manchester. The champions will not want to strengthen United in any way, so this looks like a non-starter.

Newcastle And Chelsea Must Be Careful With Finances

Newcastle United (6/1) and Chelsea (8/1) would ordinarily be interested in a move for Grealish, but it looks difficult for both clubs.

For starters, neither look like they will be playing Champions League football next season, and Grealish will not want to drop out of that competition.

Secondly, neither Newcastle nor Chelsea will be able to spend freely this summer due to the aforementioned profit and sustainability rules.

Given City will want to recoup a large chunk of the £100m they paid for Grealish, Newcastle and Chelsea are outsiders at best.

Could Grealish join Inter or move to Saudi Arabia?

Inter are enjoying a fantastic season in Serie A, and City would be more willing to sell abroad than to either Arsenal or Manchester United.

The Nerazzurri are available at 10/1, but they would struggle to afford Grealish’s wages.

That would not be an issue for clubs from Saudi Arabia, but odds of 14/1 are not particularly tempting given Grealish would surely reject any move to the Pro League.
